Ashley Brown, 2021 Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker

Ashley L. Brown, originally from Texas, has spent the last 5 years living in Atlanta, GA. Although born in the United States, Ashley is a first-generation American as both of her parents are from Jamaica. As a first-generation student, she earned her Bachelor of Public Administration from Texas State University and her Masters of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Currently, Ashley is finishing her Doctorate of Education in Student Affairs Leadership at the University of Georgia where she is studying undocumented students’ sense of belonging on college campuses. Ashley serves her community by consulting professionals within the field of education on issues related to equity, justice, liberation, and inclusivity. Further, Ashley works at Georgia State University in University Housing as an Assistant Director, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion where she oversees residential operations, diversity education, and student engagement programming. Outside of work and school, Ashley is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the President of the Georgia College Student Personnel Association.  Ashley is a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory through IDI, LLC. She is also an active member in National Association of Student Personnel Administration (NASPA) and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).
